From your hotel you will begin the tour through the New Guatemala de la Asunción, the official name of Guatemala city, which involves great variety of architectural expressions that make numberless contrasts, begin the trip the main Plaza or Plaza de la Constitución, visit sightseeing the National Palace (Palacio Nacional de la Cultura)  the metropolitan Cathedral, and the central market where you can find huge variety of handcrafts and regional textiles.  Continue to the Civic Centre, where you can see the Cultural Center Miguel Angel Asturias, a monumental work  of modern architecture, then continue through the Sexta Avenida and the Avenida La Reforma, visit the Avenida de Las Americas, at the proper time return to Guatemala city.

Antigua Guatemala (Half Day)

Departs from your hotel to the America’s Colonial Monument, Antigua Guatemala, named so by the beauty and greatness of the colonial buildings. The town is protected by the surrounding eternal guards, the Volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. Antigua was founded in 1543, as the third capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala and partially destroyed by in 1773 by the Santa Marta Earthquakes. Go over cobblestoned streets to visit the Arms Plaza, Palace of the Captains General, Cathedral, churches and monasteries. Continue visiting the Jade factory and the handicraft market. At the proper times return to the hotel in Antigua or Guatemala City.

Antigua Guatemala (Full Day)

Depart from your hotel to the America’s Colonial Monument, Antigua Guatemala, named so by the beauty and greatness of the colonial buildings. The town is protected by the surrounding eternal guards, the Volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango.  In 1979, Antigua Guatemala was declared as a Cultural Heritage of the Humanity by UNESCO. Begin with the most beautiful view of the city from Cerro de La Cruz, then, on to the church of La Merced, visit the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral.  You will also visit the University Of San Carlos De Borromeo (now the Colonial Museum). Time for lunch at Las Antorchas Restaurant or similar (not included):  you will enjoy delicious Guatemalan cuisine.  Continue the tour to the surroundings of Antigua Guatemala and visit the village of San Antonio Aguascalientes and Ciudad Vieja. At the end of your journey, return to your hotel.

Chichicastenango and Atitlan Lake (Full Day)

Transfer from your hotel to the Guatemalan Highlands along the Panamerican Highway to Chichicastenango, a quiche Indian town surrounded by hills and mountains that jealously keep the inhabitants’ traditions, as they melt their prehispanic and catholic rituals at the 400 years old church of Santo Tomas, built on the remains of a Maya Temple. Here on market days Thursdays and Sundays, acquire great meaning and smoky incense impregnates the atmosphere with mysticism and religiosity. People barter their product and the market explodes with color, tradition and folklore. At the proper time transfer to Panajachel, a village located on the shores of Lake Atitlan. Considered as one of the most beautiful lakes around the world, also three volcanoes Atitlan, Toliman and San Pedro are protecting the lake. Free time for lunch (not included). On time transfer back to Guatemala city.

Pacaya Volcano (Full Day)

Description:
Departs from Guatemala City via the Pacific Highway to the Pacaya National Park, located 25miles away from the City, and located in front of this capital. This is one of the most active volcanoes in the country from a total of 33 all along the LA MADRE RANGE; its permanent activity is well seen from all places around there (especially during night). Due to the constant activity the main crater has been changing and the mutation has caused the creation of several peaks around it, where the most important is the Makenney Peak. The nice walking up to the volcano is relaxing with easily walking trails.  At the proper time returns to Guatemala City.

Tikal Archeological Site (Full Day)

Duration: 12 hrs

Description:
Transfer from your hotel to the Airport to aboard the flight to Tikal, During the flight you can appreciate the country’s singular topography. Upon arrival, a guide will take you to the Archaeological Site of Tikal “Place of Voices”, surrounded by the tropical forest that has kept Tikal in its millennial dream. Visit the main Plaza and the Temple of the Great Jaguar, central acropolis, Mundo Perdido and temple IV from where you can observe the majesty of the city and the emerald green jungle. After lunch (included) visit the museum Silvanus Morley and then return to the airport for flight back to Guatemala city. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Flight returns at 1600, arrives at 1650.
