Latin American and Caribbean Area for Higher Education (ENLACES)

The 6th and 7th  November 2008, key policy-makers from national and regional Higher Education organizations, and the University Networks of Latin America and the Caribbean attended a meeting in Panama organized by the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC-UNESCO).
Among the organizations that took part in the event there was also the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (OUI) represented by its president Luis Miguel Romero, member of GUIDE Association.
On this occasion it has been established the Declaration of Panama, with the aim of formulating and publicly announcing their joint plans to establish a Latin American and Caribbean Area for Higher Education (ENLACES).

ENLACES represents a strategic area of academic cooperation and integration, which in turn, foster development in different areas such as science, technology and innovation, curricular alignment processes and harmonization.

GUIDE Association expressed its availability to cooperate with ENLACES in the promotion of Latin American and Caribbean integration and leadership through the development of the technological and scientific sectors, the harmonization of programmes and the promotion of information system networks both at local and global levels.
