Structure

GUIDE Association is run by a the General Secretary, a Board of Directors and a Scientific Board elected by the majority of Members on the basis of geographical distribution of partner universities and in charge of coordinating research activities. Within this Scientific Board four Chairs have been nominated in order to facilitate dialogue with the General Secretary and the GUIDE secretariat. The Chairs are also in charge of identifying the main research topics to be analyzed in joint publications or projects and innovative themes to be discussed in future conferences and workshops. 

Prof. Alessandra Briganti - General Secretary 

Prof. Alessandra Briganti is Chancellor of the Marconi University and General Secretary of GUIDE Association. She is also President of ForCom, an Interuniversity Consortium for distance learning and  full professor of Italian literature and Arts at Marconi University. She was full professor of  Italian Modern and Contemporary Literature at University La Sapienza of Rome and full professor of Mass Communication Theory at Oriental University Institute of Naples. She is Author of numerous  texts in the following research fields: Counselling distribution: training systems and professional systems; the use of  computer science supports in the didactic of different disciplines; adult’s training methodologies; E-learning and permanent education at distance – Lifelong learning.

Prof. Krzysztof Gurba - Scientific Board Chair

Director of the Institute for Research on Civilizations and Vice-Director of the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication - The Pontifical University of John Paul II, Poland.

Professor of Computer Science and Philosophy. Academic teacher since 1986 at Medical Academy, Pedagogical Academy, the Jagiellonian University. Since 2003 Dean and Associated Professor at the Tischner European University, Department of Applied Social Sciences. Teaches also journalism at Technical and Management University in Rzeszow and the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow. Now Responsible for e-Learning at the Tischner European University.

Prof. Robert W. Robertson - Scientific Board Chair

Vice President Academic Affairs - Argosy University, U.S.A.

He has more than twenty years of management experience in the public sector in Canada. Most recently, he served as the City Manager, City of Hamilton, Ontario. He has lectured at universities in China, Brazil, Canada and Central Asia and is an invited speaker at conferences world-wide. His research and consulting interests include corporate and strategic planning, quality management, continuous improvement, organizational behaviour, economic development, public sector management, city planning and international business.


Prof. Kumiko Aoki 
- Scientific Board Chair

Professor at the Center of ICT and Distance Education - The Open University of Japan, Japan. 

She obtained her Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Hawaii. She taught at the Rochester Institute of Technology, U.S.A., and Boston University, U.S.A. before she returned to Japan in 2004. Since January 2004, she has been a researcher at the National Institute of Multimedia Education, which was merged with the Open University of Japan in April 2009. Her research interests include learning designs, quality assurance of distance education, student-centered learning, and international distance education.

 Prof. Mustafa Nasereddin - Scientific Board Member

 Senior Executive Director  - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), Jordan.

 In addition to his management and leadership responsibilities, Mr. Nasereddin is the International Relations Director for the Organization representing the Group in various forums and institutions. Mr. Nasereddin, a holder of a Masters degree in Computer Engineering, joined Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization in 1999, he is equipped with 37 years of cross-cultural and cross-industry experience as an engineer, business developer, communicator, mentor and entrepreneur. Mr. Nasereddin solid experience allowed him to become a powerhouse to be reckoned with in business development, information technology, education, and microfinance.
