VIII International GUIDE Conference in Brazil

The VIII International GUIDE Conference “Science and Technology, Management and Quality: the future of higher education in Brazil and around the world”, will be held on November 19-21, 2014 at the Universidade Tiradentes (Aracaju), leader University in Brazil for traditional and on-line education.

The conference intends to promote critical discussion on the main trends of global e-learning development, with particular attention to technology, management, research and quality.

The crisis of the public education system accelerates the expansion of e-learning in both developed and developing countries, as a response to the growing demand for access to higher education and technology development.

  Conclusions of the VII International GUIDE Conference in Guatemala

The VII International GUIDE Conference, held in Guatemala April 10-11 2014, attracted over 350 participants from 41 different countries.

During two days, the conference featured 78 presentations in plenary sessions as well as other sessions dedicated to topics such as the role of distance education in developing countries and in the global and local workplace, quality assurance, technological and pedagogic innovation and the application of OERs and MOOCs in formal education.

New initiatives

Digital Universities: International Best Practices and Applications is the new e-journal published by the Global Universities in Distance Education (GUIDE) Association which is sponsored by Marconi University, Rome Italy. It aims at bridging this gap and providing a new space for the exchange of knowledge among international experts and practitioners.
The journal publishes scholarly empirical, theoretical, and review articles dealing with online education specifically cases, best practices and applications related to different areas such as business, technology and science and pedagogy. Manuscripts  suitable for publication in the journal cover areas such as:

  • Training in and for Higher education;
  • Science, Technology and Research;
  • Teaching methods for Research Training
  • Methodology for Vocational training
  • Quality Assurance.
